Alvin J. Bouton - September 13, 1940 - May 1, 2009
Pettigrew has lost a good friend and key employee, Al Bouton. Al came to us in March 2006 and dove headfirst into designing our new point of purchase accounting and inventory control software system. He cut his teeth in the data processing industry nearly 40 years ago as a systems analyst in the banking world. Al's big business expertise was key to his talent helping old school small businesses like Pettigrew operate in the 21st century.
Pettigrew Associates, Inc. grew to depend on Al to wear many hats as he took on the roles of IT manager, accounting manager, accounts payable manager, computer techie and morale officer! We could always count on Al as a calm voice in a stormy sea.
Al Bouton had a favorite saying going something like this... For every problem there is at least one solution.
There will be an announcement of a small gathering of friends here in Dallas in the coming days...a time when those can remember Al.

Al and I should have never been close. Sounds strange to write, but that is what we believe. I cherish our time together for breakfast, for a break neck experience of conversation, riotous laughter and sweet tears of understanding for each other. Soar on my dear friend!!!
Also, if you have information for any of us mortals, send as soon as you can.
Alvin was the nicest, calmest person I know. He was very patient with my mother. One time I asked him for his DNA for the National Geographic DNA project- Genoeolgy, family of Bouton (Vera Bouton Huffman )and he nicly obliged.I will miss him. :(
