Pettigrew Furniture Showroom Moving to New Location

 Dallas, Texas – November 15, 2011. Pettigrew, a luxury furniture and lighting showroom and long-time cornerstone in the Dallas Design District, will move from the Decorative Center to their new showroom at 1805 Market Center Boulevard on November 1, 2011. While Pettigrew will continue to offer top quality, hand-crafted luxury furniture and lighting, their new showroom will offer new work spaces and features to help Dallas’ top interior designers and clients create custom pieces.

What remains the same? Pettigrew’s experienced sales and design team and in-house craftsmen and women will continue to deliver on the Pettigrew promise of unique furniture and lighting of exceptional quality, with unparalleled attention to detail, hand-tooled craftsmanship and delivery of one-of-a-kind furnishings, typically in a short six weeks. As always, furniture, chandeliers and accessories are available to buy directly off the floor, or, designers can take inspiration from a piece and modify it to match their own vision or client preferences. Furniture can be lengthened or shortened, finishes can be changed, and fabric can be substituted.

What’s new? This new showroom will include many amenities to help Texas’ top designers create one-of-a-kind pieces. The showroom will feature workspaces, Wi-Fi, samples, a coffee-bar, publications, and other tools and resources. If clients wonder how different fillers for a sofa will feel, they can test drive a special sofa featuring three different filling solutions for price and comfort. If they want a different finish, they can use the samples on hand to compare and select a new finish. If they like a chandelier, but want to make it their own, they can roll up the crystal cart and see how different crystals can re-define and customize the look of the chandelier. Designers are invited to check out the new showroom and its interactive design experience.

Pettigrew’s furniture and lighting are created on-site. Visitors are invited to step back into the workrooms behind the showroom to watch Pettigrew’s talented craftsmen as they hand-tool and create these special pieces.

"It's a new twist on a European tradition," Pettigrew designer, Ellie Visconti explains.  "The furniture workshops of Italy and France show finished goods in the front of the store, while the craftsmen are working their magic in the studios in the rear."

Catholic Charities of Dallas Stages "Hope for the Holidays" in Pettigrew's New Showroom

We’re working hard to polish up the final touches as we get ready for a great kick-off event in the new showroom. On November 18th, from 6-10pm, Pettigrew is pleased to be hosting the Catholic Charities of Dallas' Hope for the Holidays event in our glittering new showroom and chandelier gallery.

Pettigrew Hosts Celebration of Design 2011

On October 12th Pettigrew Associates hosted the opening seminar of Celebration of Design, Decorative Center Dallas' annual design event.  This year we welcomed Deborah Burnett, the international authority on Epigenetic Design.

Deborah is an award winning, state registered interior designer, licensed building contractor, lighting design and chair holder of the Color Marketing Group. Combining her 30+ years of knowledge of the interior environment with the evidence-based scientific research, she is bridging the gap between medicine and design with her unique perspective and extensive physician-level study.

With passion and enthusiasm, she has enlightened international audiences, university students and A/E and ID firms and professional organizations worldwide as to how and why the body, brain and emotions are directly affected by the places we work, shop, learn, relas, heal and… call home.

For over 60 years Pettigrew has served the design community, and we support the continuing education of designers throughout Texas and the Southwest.

Pettigrew Wins ASID Legacy of Design Award...AGAIN!

For the second year running, Pettigrew Associates has received the Shining Star Industry Partner Collaboration Award sharing this year’s First Place honor with Linda Fritschy Rogers, ASID of Linda Fritschy Interior Design. The award was presented August 10th at a red carpet event - the 2011 Legacy of Design Awards ceremony at Dallas Market Center. 

This award recognizes collaboration between a designer and an industry partner in creating a stunning room. Once again Pettigrew has been recognized for our comprehensive design experience that provides clients with the resources and knowledge to create their vision.

Linda Fritschy brought her client to Pettigrew’s showroom in search of a large dining table. They discovered a unique transitional table with distinctive walnut pedestals which supported a scalloped top of walnut veneer.  The client had specific dimension requirements for the dining room. Using elements from the original table, Pettigrew’s seasoned staff worked with the designer and client to customize the table to their wishes – drawing templates, and providing direct access and creative input at each stage of production. The length of the table was extended and the width narrowed. These templates helped insure that the table size was just perfect for the room.

In addition, Pettigrew’s custom upholstery studio reupholstered the client’s twelve dining chairs. Pettigrew’s sales staff also made recommendations for a beautiful antique rug to tie the room together.

The result is an award-winning collaboration of a beautiful concept and design delivered with precise execution and craftsmanship.
